Holiday Inn Express Theatreland

Staff were very friendly, and the room was okay with a clean bathroom. Parking was available, thankfully, as the car park was nearly full that evening, and the price was okay. We stayed from dec 10 to dec 11. Our room had no view, just a wall, and it was very noisy. Every few minutes, until midnight, we heard something like a train or heavy vehicle passing. Breakfast was totally not okay. The croissants were hard, like they were a day old, and the hashbrowns were hard and not chewable instead of crisp and soft. The tomatoes were okay. We didn't try the beans, and the egg looked so poor we didn't dare try it. Hot drinks and juices were okay, but there was no water. Cornflakes and milk were okay. The muffins... well, we wanted a proper, nutritious meal. The food on that day wasn't edible.

Breakfast was fantastic, though very busy at 8:30. They do have an overflow room, so it wasn't a disaster. There was a buffet with British staples like beans, scrambled egg, sausage and bacon, plus tea, coffee, juice, continental choices, a berry platter and other fruits. It all tasted great. I gave it 5 stars because, for the price, it covered everything I expected. The room was clean, the staff very helpful, and the location excellent. I didn't have a car, but there's a large covered multi-storey car park across the road. I'd recommend it and visit again.

The stay was very peaceful. Our room was lovely, breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff were polite and respectful, and the cleaning lady seemed to be doing her best. Everything else disappointed me. This was honestly one of the worst hotels I've stayed in, and I'd give it a negative rating if I could. Definitely not recommended. The room was dirty and smelled bad. There was hair on the pillows, which was disgusting, and the overall hygiene and cleanliness were terrible. Breakfast was extremely poor and exactly the same every day, with no variety. There were no choices suited to Arab or Asian tastes, and most of the food had beans or pork, which I don't eat.
