Conner and Izabela at reception were a real credit to the hotel. When we arrived, they handled the situation with professionalism, efficiency and genuine care. Their calm approach and clear communication meant a lot. The location is excellent too, with easy access to the Science Centre, a cinema and a good range of restaurants nearby. I was hoping for an experience like the Ibis hotels I used to stay in regularly in South West France twenty years ago, when I was thinking about moving there. I was willing to pay a premium rate for that, but maybe my expectations were too high. The small window looked out on a bleak view, and the duvet was so thin I had to put a towel over it. Heating in the room wasn’t adequate, and there was no kettle or tea and coffee. Something feels structurally wrong with Accor's approach to Ibis Budget. It compares very badly with other options in Glasgow.

The staff were really friendly, and for one night the room was fine. It was cramped, though, and the shower smelled bad. The shower was in the same room as the toilet, with no separate bathroom. The sheets hadn’t been fitted, which was more awkward because one of the beds was a bunk bed. You get what you pay for. Thankfully, one night was enough. I wouldn’t stay again.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I’d accidentally booked a twin room, and they switched us to one with a double bed without any fuss. They also lent us a hairdryer free of charge. The hotel is in a business park with a few places nearby for a quick bite. Our clean room did what we needed. It’s affordable and convenient if you just need somewhere to rest your head after a day out.
