Travelodge Glasgow Central

The room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included; there wasn’t a huge choice, but it was enough to keep us filled up. The hotel looks a little worn and could do with a revamp. It’s in an excellent, central location, and an easy walk from the station.

The location was okay, close to the centre, with parking nearby. The service wasn’t great, though I can’t blame the staff when one person had to handle reception, the bar and breakfast. That’s a lot. I was disappointed, but we only needed a bed for the night. I usually prefer Travelodge to Premier Inn, but next time I’ll choose Premier Inn. The room was ridiculously tiny, and I’ve stayed in small rooms before. There was hardly any lighting, just two bedside lights and one by the TV. The ceiling had burn marks, and the wallpaper was very dated. A white paint job and more light might make the room feel bigger.

Rooms were cleaned well, and the location was okay, though there are better spots. Everything else was really disappointing. I wouldn’t call it run down, I’d say horrible. The receptionists struggled to understand and handle my requests, the lift scared me, and all the shared areas looked tired. My room was small, with lots of decorating faults, peeling paint and battered furniture. It looked like nothing had been updated for decades. The bed was awful, hard and sounded like it might fall apart. Even closing the bathroom door was a challenge. Breakfast wasn’t the best either. I won’t be back.

We stayed for one night, and the place was terribly dirty. The sheets weren’t clean. After the stay, my son developed scabies and a terrible rash, and we’re still dealing with the problem months later. My one year old son was badly infected too, and so were my husband and me. We’ve spent a lot of time and money on disinfection, and the worst part is the marks left on my children’s skin. All these problems came from choosing this hotel for one night. It wasn’t worth it at all, and I wouldn’t recommend it even to my enemy.
