The rooms were full of character, each one unique. You can tell the owners put a lot of time into every detail. The living room fireplace made for a special spot where we had a few drinks and played games. The bar looked stunning, keeping its original feel while adding a touch of luxury. The kitchen was huge, with three ovens and loads of counter space. We cooked Beef Wellington, fresh pasta and bake tarts, then made an authentic English breakfast in the morning. I've never seen a kitchen with so much equipment. It was a superb weekend, with lots of space throughout the place. It was cold outside, so the jacuzzi felt even better while we sipped champagne. I'd suggest picking up fresh milk, butter and eggs from the place by the church, then heading out for a walk or, even better, a hike. The view is breathtaking.

Zara and Stefan were friendly and efficient, and went out of their way to make sure we both had a lovely experience. The food was brilliant, and we had a superb meal for my birthday. Compliments to the chef and team, keep up the good work.

We had a lovely room to ourselves, with children's books to keep our three-year-old occupied. After the meal we moved to the warm, relaxing lounge for tea and coffee, and found board games that the young ones appreciated. The staff were attentive and patient throughout, and everyone in the family had good things to say about the food, staff, ambience and location. The dishes were amazing and generously portioned, with every plate cleared. I organised this Christmas meal for 17 family members of all ages. The location worked well for relatives travelling from the west and east of the UK by car or train. The hospitality team helped us plan menus and choices in advance, then gave us a warm welcome. The meal was served beautifully and quickly, and the goodbyes at the end were just as warm. Best wishes and thanks to the whole team.

Zara looked after us attentively and made sure we got everything we wanted. We came for a birthday meal, and the food was extremely good. The blade of beef was perfectly cooked, with mash and red wine jus that complemented it beautifully.

The open fire made the cold evening especially cosy, and the ambience was lovely. We got friendly, great service from the staff. The menu is wide and has more gluten-free options than I've come across before. We came twice in two days, first for drinks and then for dinner. The sourdough starter with salted Gloucestershire butter was divine. I chose the beef blade with mash, mushrooms and shallots in jus. The beef melted on touch, and the mash, onions, wilted spinach and baby mushrooms were delicious too. I polished it off quickly. My husband had the homemade chixkyand tarragon pie, which he described as freshly roasted chicken pulled off the bone, really meaty, plentiful and full of lovely tarragon flavour. The pastry was perfect. His generous side of cabbage, kale, leeks and garden peas was tasty, and the chips were good too. Service was excellent, and congratulations to the chef and team for a job well done. We may have to come back tomorrow for our last night. Highly recommend.
