Waking up to the countryside view was amazing. The location couldn't have been better, and breakfast was just right. The host was great, too.

The horses grazing beside our room were such a lovely part of the countryside setting. Our host made us feel completely at home, and we had a wonderful stay. The room and location were lovely too. We only wished we could've stayed longer. We'll definitely come back and tell our friends about it.

Watching deer from the balcony was amazing, though you do have to keep quiet. We had the small double room, and the balcony made it feel twice as big. It's a lovely spot to unwind in the countryside and look at the stars on a clear night. We even saw Elon musks string of satellites pass by, unreal! The host was lovely and made breakfast at home. This place is probably best for people who really connect with the countryside. If you're noisy, I think a Travelodge would suit you better.

We only had one night here after a day in Brighton, so I wish we'd had more time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The views are stunning, and the building has a lot of rustic charm. I liked that it had character instead of feeling clinical like a chain hotel. Our host was welcoming, and breakfast was nice. My husband and I slept incredibly well in our lovely room, which had the most amazing bed. Our teenage children stayed next door. They complained a bit about a small ant nest and a few cobwebs, though it wouldn't have bothered me. It's out in the sticks, so that's part of what you get. The doors don't have locks, as another review mentioned, but we felt safe and didn't see that as a problem for this location. We arrived late and left the next day, but I'd definitely stay again. I'd have given five stars if not for the ants in the kids' room.

I slept amazingly well, almost as if I were at home. Lesley was an awesome host, and breakfast was delicious. The accommodation is lovely and ideal for a peaceful getaway, with Ashdown Forest, several National Trust properties and the Bluebell Railway nearby.
