I’ve regularly stayed at Premier Inn hotels for work and usually had good experiences, which made this visit especially disappointing. We booked a Premier Plus room for two, but it didn’t feel up to that standard. There was only one bath towel, and it was thin, badly worn and had a hole in it. Loud banging continued through the night, sounding to me like the lift hitting the walls as it moved, though I don’t know what caused it. I got only about two or three hours of sleep. There was also a noise like air or water leaking from the air conditioner. The bathroom extractor fan didn’t work, and overnight the air conditioning showed an error and kept flashing a green light, making it hard to rest. I sent all of this in writing to Premier Inn head office the morning after our stay because I have anxiety and find confrontation difficult. Their official response was that, since I hadn’t raised the problems with the management team, they hadn’t happened. If something goes wrong, apparently you need to confront a manager there and then, or you’re treated as if you’re lying.

A clean, pleasant hotel in a good spot, with the friendly and helpful staff you’d expect at Premier Inn. Parking spaces are limited, so it can be tricky, though I managed to park. The restaurant food was okay, while the local restaurants are great.

The room was spacious and very clean, and getting into the accommodation hallways and your room requires a card. Staff were keen to help and always had a smile. The hotel is a two-minute walk from the city centre and right beside Hereford football grounds. There’s a bar and restaurant at the front, overlooking the start of the main shopping precinct. There are plenty of parking spaces, but parking is paid. The all-you-can-eat breakfast costs just over £10 per person and includes hot and cold drinks.

Hardworking, helpful staff, and a really central spot. Shops are right there, with the stadium next door, plus the usual coffee chains and independent cafés close by.

The Sunday price was good, but I wouldn’t want to pay the weekday rate. The meal deal is cheap, though the food is indifferent. Our room was too warm even with the fan on full and the temperature set to minimum. The windows don’t open, and this was near the end of September.
