Warbrook House Heritage Hotel

Our guests loved the candle-lit Speakeasy we made in the Wellington room, with a fireplace playing on the TV for a cosy feel. Sammy moved our decor from the Drawing Room during the wedding breakfast and did a brilliant job. When our dance floor delivery fell through later that evening, the team immediately offered theirs instead. Sammy and her team also worked smoothly with our external On-The-Day Coordinator, who helped with the move from the church to the venue. We had our ceremony off-site, and when we arrived at Warbrook House, Sammy was waiting with a welcome French 75. She'd also sorted out a speaker problem from that morning by lending us hers. Planning with Sammy was great from the start. At our first viewing she warmly showed us around, listened to our ideas, and suggested ways to bring them to life, including places to visit for inspiration. She was responsive and helpful throughout. With no events at Warbrook House during our wedding week, we could set up over several days, which made the morning much easier. Warbrook were flexible with timings and let us arrange the drawing room, Stapleton-James and Wellington rooms to suit our plans. The food was amazing throughout the day. When we asked in advance for extra sauce jugs for the main course and desserts, the F&B team went further and brought gravy jugs for every table. Our wedding exceeded everything we expected and was an amazing, memorable day. Thanks to Sammy and the whole team!

The grounds are a good size, with woods and a built-in canal where ducks were swimming. In spring, I imagine there'll be plenty of nesting birds for watchers. The food had a good consistency. It's a comfortable four-star hotel, though I happened to visit at a less than ideal time of year. The room was much too hot for me, which isn't really a criticism. The original building apparently dates to around 1726.

Service was excellent, and I liked the location and grounds. The bar and dining room were nice enough, and breakfast was pretty good, though the bacon was dry and the fruit salad selection was limited. It was sitting uncovered at the servery, and there was a fly on it when we went to get some. The coffee machine could use a few simple instructions. Our room felt a bit sad, with grubby curtains coming off their rails and marks and scratches on the surfaces. We could hear the noisy people above us very clearly. On the second day, the bed had been made rather scruffily. A little more attention to detail and some sprucing up could make this place superb.

Large rooms, a heated outdoor swimming pool, friendly staff, and incredible food made our visit memorable. A huge thank you to Claire, Heather & Thomas for being so welcoming. We look forward to coming back. Hugely recommend, many thanks. Carlo
