Breakfast was amazing, and the team even gave us extra time at checkout so we could fit in one last run. Dinner, the lamb, was excellent, though the overall price felt a little high. The room was comfortable, well located and they were very accommodating. Kippers are a treat. I'd stay again and recommend it.

The pub was cosy, with a warm fire, good food and drink, and friendly staff. The owners were welcoming too. It was a great base for a Peak District night before heading out to walk the stunning area. We slept well, and breakfast was superb. Our spontaneous one-night stay included our dog. The room was spacious and clean, with a very big bathroom and a good shower. The bed was really comfortable and the linens were nice. It's a quiet spot on the edge of the village, around a 10-15 minute walk depending which way you go. Faultless for what we wanted.

We stayed with our dog around 20 December, and he, Stanley, was treated like a prince. After our five-hour drive, sitting by the fire was lovely. The staff were friendly, and the chef came out for a chat and was really nice. The food was amazing, with a great twist, and I'd recommend eating here. The rooms are a bit dated, but that's the only downside. We'll be back.

I had a lovely solo weekend here and will be back. The room was comfortable and clean, and everyone on staff was friendly and attentive. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and I'm still craving that meal.

A warm welcome and a cosy bar made us feel at home during our two-night stay in early December. It's dog friendly, the staff were lovely and helpful, and both our dinners were very good. They also do a great breakfast. A really good base for exploring the Peak District.
