Thanks to Jess for making me feel welcome, and to Mel, Freya, and all the other staff whose names I didn't catch. The friendly team made my stay at Horsham North comfortable and homely, and it was a memorable experience. Well done, everyone, keep smiling! It'll definitely be my first choice when I'm back.

The lady at reception was nice, but the stay has been awful so far. It's night one of a three-night work trip, and I'm wondering how I'm going to get out of here. The room is in the 30s, the shower won't run cold, and I can't see how I'll sleep before work. I'm not eating at the Cafe Chernobyl next door either.

The rooms were nice and it was quiet, but we couldn't get enough heat from the heater to warm ours. We chose the meal deal with accommodation at the last minute, the night before our Italy trip. You have to book the meal deal, and we booked for 6:30. We arrived early for a drink, but there was no draught beer, only bottles, and not really beer: Heineken, Nastro Azzurro and Sol. They wouldn't let us into the restaurant before our slot, so we sat in a bar that could have been in the Antarctic, despite there being a fireplace and logs. The restaurant guy had told us it didn't open until 6, then let someone in seven minutes before six, while the restaurant was empty. A woman going to a wedding asked him for chips, but he said they were fully booked, even though it was empty. Then, eight minutes before our booking, he asked if we wanted to eat because of a no-show. I wanted to wait a minute or so and see if he'd tell us we were late and fully booked, but she wouldn't let me. The food was alright, and luckily I didn't need vinegar because they only had three sachets left. At breakfast, 'Lenny' says eat as much as you like, but you can only help yourself to cereal, yoghurt, juice, toast and coffee. They come to take your cooked breakfast order. By then I'd had enough and didn't bother. The building is shabby, the area around it looks like it hasn't been swept in ages, and the bins were overflowing. I'm waiting for Premier Inn to ask me for a review. The fire was unlit, and there was a cobweb. It's a bit hit and miss, and I'm sure Lenny Henry hasn't stayed at this one.

The Beefeater was the main letdown. The staff there were cheerful and served us well, but every night there was a long list of menu items unavailable, including steaks, gammon and chicken wings. Breakfast was served with a smile, but it wasn't the help-yourself buffet I expect at other Premier Inns. The building overall was a bit run down, and poor soundproofing meant I heard bumps, thuds and neighbours snoring through the night. As at other Premier Inns I've stayed in, the room itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff were happy to help. I won't stay at this hotel again and will find somewhere else.

My sister and I have stayed at the Horsham Premier Inn opposite the railway station three times. There's another Premier Inn in Horsham town, so make sure you know which one. The customer service has been consistently outstanding on every stay, and all the staff were excellent.
