Premier Inn Hull West

Reception staff were really friendly, and the hotel is easy to find just off a roundabout. It's in a quiet spot on Hull's western edge. If you want to be in town near things to do, I'd look elsewhere. The room was comfortable but looked like it hadn't been refurbished in a while. There were no Premier Plus touches such as a coffee machine, and there was no air conditioning, so a fan was running when I arrived. The shower leaked, with most of the hot water coming out behind the tap instead of the shower head, so it was a bit chilly each day. Breakfast is in the adjoining pub, accessible through a connecting door without going outside. Service was okay, though a little frosty, and some of the furniture looked worn, with ripped cushions on a few chairs. Parking is free for guests, but you need to register on the tablet at reception or the ANPR camera may result in a charge.

My wife and son went for a walk on the Bridge. Don't sit there too long, though. The police come over to check you're okay, even if you're just minding your own business and having a rest. I guess there are a lot of jumpers.

We booked two nights near Hull with breakfast and dinner. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were very polite. The bar is a bit pricey, but all in all we'd recommend this Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre.

We stayed in a family room to visit relatives five minutes away. The beds were comfortable and there was everything we needed to get a good night's sleep. We'll come back.
