Salthouse Harbour

The Marina room is especially lovely in the evening, and each room I’ve stayed in has had its own personal touch. The food is beautifully presented, too. What keeps bringing me back to Salthouse Harbour Hotel whenever I get some spare time is how genuine, friendly and welcoming the people are. They make the experience great every time, and keep that standard consistently high.

The bed was soooo comfortable, and our room had beautiful harbour views. We had a lovely stay here with my partner and our dog. Even with the ground floor being refurbished, the service and room service were 5 star. They’d left a dog bowl and toy in the room, which was a nice touch. We’ll be back!

We arrived early and the room wasn’t ready, so the welcoming, friendly woman at check-in offered us drinks while we waited. We’d booked a city view, but our comfortable, tastefully decorated room had a lovely side view of the marina, which was a nice surprise. The hotel was quiet and in a perfect location. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

The staff were helpful getting us in and out through the building site, and we’d been warned about the work beforehand. We also appreciated the adjusted room rate. Once upstairs, the rooms were at their usual high standard, with a slightly quirky decor. A couple of things stood out: the lighting is very low key, and on dull weather days it was quite dark even with every light on. We also heard more noise from the corridor and above than on earlier visits, perhaps because of the building work and the extra corridor traffic for room service. This was our third visit to Salthouse, and the extensive ground floor refurbishment made it a bit different. I’ll be interested to see it again once the upgrades are complete.
