The people here are the reason I keep coming back for work. From reception to housekeeping, everyone is friendly and willing to help with a smile. Nothing seems too much effort for the staff. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard and have what you need, including a good-sized, clean en-suite, towels, hair dryer, tea and coffee, and a kettle. The beds are so comfortable, I’ve never had a bad night’s sleep. It may not be the most modern Premier Inn, but the reception area is always clean and there’s always a cheerful face at the desk. The receptionists I spoke to, I think they were called Zoe and Vicky, knew the area and had good suggestions for restaurants and walks. I’ve stayed a few times recently and can’t wait to return.

I’ll admit I’m a bit of a hotel snob, and this was my first Premier Inn. The rooms are basic but have what you need, and the hotel was spotless. The pillows were much too soft, and I would have liked a few more, but we slept well. The water was very hot and the shower had good pressure. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Vicky at reception was so lovely and welcoming. She’d switched the heater on in our room before we arrived. It was clean and comfortable, and the shower pressure was great. I’d recommend staying.

The restaurant staff were friendly and polite, and the food was really good. I had the festive ice cream for pudding, a bit naughty but worth the calories. When I arrived, it was freezing outside, so the receptionist told me to switch on the heater in my room and let her know if it didn’t warm up quickly. It heated fast, and when I went down for dinner 20 minutes later, she checked that I was okay. I stay at Premier Inns all the time. This one doesn’t have all the gadgets and gizmos some places do, like the Birmingham NEC one, but it’s the people and the powerful shower that make it special. I find older showers are best. I’ll definitely stay again when I’m in the area.

The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the food was decent and well priced. The rate was higher than at other Premier Inns, but this is one of the best in the UK, and every staff member was ready to help. For me, the location is perfect for visiting relatives.
