Hythe Imperial Hotel & Spa

Our guests still say it was the best wedding they've ever been to. The room where we stayed was immaculate, and the food on the day was incredible. The team even heard a line in one of our speeches and somehow had karaoke arranged by that evening. We felt welcomed and celebrated as a same-sex couple. The venue is genuinely inclusive, which stood out after visiting other places that said they were inclusive but didn't know how to refer to us. Even though they host lots of weddings each season, they treated us as individuals and remembered details from conversations two years earlier. Their suggestions came from experience and a real interest in bringing our vision to life, rather than pushing us to spend more. They took care with every detail, and the day felt seamless and even better than we'd hoped. No email or question was too much trouble. We also booked some of the suppliers recommended at their wedding fair. They knew the venue well and didn't disappoint, so I'd highly recommend going to one.

Torie did a lot to keep our August 2025 wedding running smoothly. She coordinated the suppliers, helped guests move between areas and checked that everyone was comfortable, including keeping an extra eye on a few family members who are on the spectrum. Thanks, Torie and everyone at the Hythe imperial hotel, for helping give Scott and me the day we'd always dreamed of. The rooms were gorgeous and clean, and the location is hard to beat on a summer's day. The outdoor space was lovely, though children need watching near the road. There was plenty of indoor space for guests too. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the evening food was much more generous than we expected. The staff were cheerful and helpful throughout, and the venue kept our decor and other things safe for us to collect the next day.

Our room had a good sea view, and the cocktail and champagne bar was nice. Dinner was okay. The room itself was nice, though we'd ordered an upgrade, and parts of the hotel could do with renovation. I don't eat pork or beef, but after asking for vegetarian food I was given a pork sausage and felt ill. There wasn't a proper apology. Reception was unhelpful too, and wouldn't show us rooms because they hadn't been cleaned. The woman on reception the day before had been much more helpful. Staff seemed lethargic, and even simple things felt like too much trouble.

We enjoyed our first stay: the room was excellent, the sea view lovely and the food exceptional. The snag is the booking emails. I didn't get confirmation when booking our last stay, or when arranging our next one while we were there. I asked them to resend it and they said they had, but nothing came through. The dinner booking was confirmed by email, though, so they do have the right address.
