The Royal Oak at Keswick

The food was beautifully presented, full of flavour and clearly made with quality ingredients. Friendly, professional service added to the whole experience. A fantastic place with a great atmosphere and real attention to detail. I'd happily visit again.

We had a lovely four-night stay at the royal oak with our two large dogs. It's our fourth visit, and each time has been just as nice. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and the pub makes dogs feel very welcome. Breakfast is a highlight, with plenty of buffet and cooked choices, plus sausages for the dogs each morning. Renovations were happening during our stay, but the workmen were polite and considerate, and the work didn't affect us. At check-in we were upgraded to suite room 1, which we'd stayed in before. There was lots of space, a separate lounge, two TVs, and a welcome new coffee machine and mini fridge stocked with drinks and nibbles. Thanks for a lovely break, we'll be back soon.

We stayed one night with our dog, and the whole hotel was dog friendly, as is most of Keswick. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was very nice, and there was an excellent choice at breakfast. The room was very comfortable and had everything needed for a good stay. The modern bathroom came with lovely toiletries. We had plenty of tea and coffee, including a coffee machine and a selection of pods. There's also a mini fridge with snacks and drinks, charged on an honesty basis when you leave. We'd be very happy to stay again.

Mariana is the reason we keep coming back. She's been at the hotel for years, and every time we visit she makes the stay for us. She's such a kind, friendly face, and we always look forward to seeing her. The breakfast is good too!
