Green Hotel

Right in the middle of Kinross, and the rooms were huge, very clean, warm on a cold night, and had plenty of hot water. The price reflects the fact that this is an old hotel that hasn't been updated, with shabby chic furniture. Still, I'd highly recommend it.

The rooms were a little tired, though clean and warm. We booked a last-minute night away with our dog and got a warm welcome, with fantastic service throughout. The food was good and there was a great choice of drinks. We had a great stay and will be back.

I only just moved to Kinross, but I won't be going back to the Green. We waited 40 minutes for food, and the starter came 15 minutes after the main. There were only four other customers, so it wasn't busy. Some options on an already narrow menu weren't available, and we only found out after ordering. The coffee was cold, the food was overcooked or undercooked, and we had to ask for things like condiments and milk for tea. Dreadful, inept service.

The sea bass smelled foul as soon as I took a bite. I asked my partner to try it in case it was just me, but he noticed the disgusting smell too. I explained to the waiter that I couldn't eat it because of the smell. To our shock, we were still billed for it. They said that because I'd ordered it, I had to pay. I explained that I couldn't eat it, but they still charged me 50% of the cost of my food, saying it was for the bites I'd taken. Disgusting food and terrible customer service!
