Balmacara Hotel

Breakfast was very good, and watching the sun come up over the view was a lovely start to the day. The night before, the owner suggested mussels for dinner. We really enjoyed them, especially the sauce, and I wish I had the recipe. We'd just visited Eilean Donan and were looking for somewhere nearby to stay, so I drove to Balmacara hotel. The evening light on the mountains of Skye was beautiful. Our room was a little small, but comfortable and perfectly good for one night.

Singh, the lobby manager, deserves a special mention. He was professional and dependable, helped us with a lot during our stay, and clearly cared about making things go smoothly. His support made a real difference to our trip, and we're grateful. We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Balmacara and had a fantastic time. Everyone on the team welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived. It's a wonderful hotel with outstanding service, and I'd happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Paul was patient and helpful when we needed to sort out several problems, and his friendly, professional service made us feel much more comfortable. We also really liked the hotel's beautiful, pleasant surroundings. We had a great stay and will definitely come back.

We stayed for 2 weeks and not once was the room serviced. We left the “service my room” sign on the door the whole time, but got no cleaning, fresh towels, or bedding change. The staff were the laziest I've come across in a UK hotel. The food was alright if you were willing to wait an hour to be served. I even had to go to reception to order a pint from the bar.
