OYO The Avenue

It was comfortable enough and generally fine. The hotel was tidy and clean both inside and out, and the room was well cared for, with fresh bed linen, tea, coffee and a kettle. The bathroom was clean too, though a little dated. The location worked well for us, about a 50-minute walk from the city centre.

The hosts were warm and very kind, and the value for money was great. The area can feel a bit crowded, but it’s multicultural and there are some amazing restaurants just around the corner. The location also worked well for getting to several different areas. The young man at reception helped sort out a few personal issues for me.

We stayed for three nights and ate at the restaurant twice. The food and service were excellent, and it wasn’t expensive. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the new TV had plenty to watch. The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. We’re in Leeds every week, so we’ll stay here on every visit. Absolutely filthy and unhygienic. There was mold and cigarette smoke everywhere, and events or parties seem to happen several times a week, so parking is never available. I’d be better off buying a sleeping bag and staying on the street. Disgusting place.
