The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and they seemed to do their best to look after us. Parking was easy, with plenty of spaces, and ordering food was simple. It arrived at our table remarkably fast, though some of it was quite burnt. The room was quite dirty when I arrived and wasn’t up to standard. There was also a lot of noise from people running and shouting in the hallways, which made it hard to relax or sleep peacefully. If you don’t know the area, the location can be surprisingly tricky to find and navigate to. The quick ordering and good staff couldn’t make up for the cleanliness and noise problems. There’s potential here if they improve housekeeping and manage the noise.

The parking charge per day is a pain. I understand it was introduced because football fans going to Elland Road sometimes parked there without staying at the hotel, but it still feels like guests are paying for that. There are two car parks, though, so if the front one’s full you can try the side and rear. What makes this place feel much better than a budget hotel is the staff. They’re fantastic and always go above and beyond. The rooms are kept clean and tidy, the water’s hot without being scalding, and breakfast is filling with plenty of choice. There are stairs as well as two lifts.

Spent four days here for work and had no complaints about the facilities or service. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. The bar and restaurant are comfortable, and the food was well cooked and reasonably priced.

The room was clean and warm, but the bathroom extractor fan was very loud, which wasn’t great when I wanted a peaceful bath after a busy day. There’s also no Sky Sports, and you need to give your car registration when you arrive for parking. Dinner was a struggle. The menu didn’t say what fish came with the fish and chips, and when I asked, I was told it was haddock. I also asked for spaghetti bolognese, but was told it was only for children. I offered to pay for an adult portion, so it seemed a strange refusal. I then ordered my steak very well done. It arrived oily and pink inside, so I sent it back. It was still not thoroughly cooked when it came back, and I didn’t eat it. The garden peas listed with it were missing, and I had to ask for a steak knife. They later apologised and offered me something else; I had beans, though they didn’t really go with the meal. There weren’t many chips, and the side salad was tiny. It didn’t get off to a good start when I went to order. The woman at the till seemed flustered, didn’t acknowledge me or make eye contact, and I had to find another staff member. The menu is very limited. The bar area has nice seating, but that’s small consolation.

I’ve already given this stay five stars, but I wanted to thank Keli and the whole team at Elland Road. They’ve been amazing. I had to spend a month here for work, and on my last day, after I’d finally managed to get a flat, they left me a lovely note and a treat. It made leaving really sad. I wish I could thank everyone personally and say goodbye. Hope I’ll see you soon! 💕💕
