The room and dining area were cold, but the host's manner was the worst part of the stay. When I arrived at 5:30pm, he barely acknowledged me and seemed annoyed that I was checking in because he wanted to go to dinner with his family. In 35 years of travelling, I haven't experienced a more frosty welcome. He brushed off my question about Wi-Fi and didn't answer. The desk QR code wouldn't connect on my iPhone 17 Pro, though the Wi-Fi itself was fast once I got on. Breakfast ingredients were okay, and there was secure parking, although the host kept two of the four spaces for his own car and van. He refused to serve breakfast at 9am because he had something to do that morning. The bedroom and bathroom were freezing, and the bathroom radiator hadn't been switched on. It took 4.5 hours for the room to become comfortable. The breakfast room was cold too. At 9:15am, while checkout was allowed until 10am, he knocked and abruptly asked when I was leaving because he needed to prepare the room for that evening. It felt like he couldn't wait to get rid of me.

We spent one night here with friends. The owners were great, and the village-centre building has been converted really nicely. Our room was spotless, with a big, comfortable bed. Breakfast came piping hot and tasted delicious, with a good range to choose from.

A really relaxing night, and we'd happily come back. The barn conversion is furnished very well, and our room was spotless, with a huge bed and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and we didn't feel rushed.

Adrian made me feel at home at The Barn, where I stayed alone while working nearby. I booked the mezzanine room, which is apparently the smallest, but it suited me fine. The double bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and the walk-in shower was good. I slept well without road noise, and breakfast was plentiful and excellent. The Crown is a short walk through the village and serves a good evening meal at a reasonable price. I usually choose Premier Inns, but next time I'm working in the area I'll make a point of staying at The Barn again.

The owners were so helpful and friendly. I arrived to cafetiere coffee and homemade biscuits, and there were snacks in the room too. It was really clean and comfortable. Fab!
