The breakfasts were such a treat, especially the haggis patties I’d picked the night before. Fresh fruit and juice, plus coffee in a little French press. Back in my room, Julie’s homemade shortbread and the thoughtful tea and coffee setup were lovely extras. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and the room had welcoming colors, a snug duvet, lots of storage, and a very clean, modern bathroom. Julie and Rich made me feel at home straight away. I’d had a rough stay somewhere else the night before, so Julie’s warm greeting felt like exactly the hug I needed. She and Rich are such a fun, welcoming couple, and their half-Maine Coon kitties are sweet too. I was sorry to leave and joked that I wished I could move in. I’d stay much longer if I could. Haste ye back, as the Scots say!

I was working nearby and stayed at the Dunclutha for 10 days. It’s a handy base for Fife and the surrounding area, just minutes from Leven Town centre. Julie and Richard were professional, friendly hosts who were always willing to go out of their way to help. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the rooms were very comfortable. I’d gladly recommend the place, and I’ve already booked another stay for next year.

The Fife coast is such a lovely part of the country, and the Fife Coastal Trail is only a few hundred yards away. Even Edinburgh is easy to get to from here, with a direct train taking about an hour and great views along the way. So there’s no need to spend several hundred dollars at a big-name hotel if you don’t have to. The other reviews have covered most things, so I won’t repeat them. Julie and Richard, thanks for such a welcoming stay. You’ve got a wonderful place, and we’ll definitely be back.

There are two crazy cats here too! The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the welcome is lovely. Very family friendly.

I had an early train to catch, and Julia kindly offered to get breakfast ready early for me. She was very accommodating. Dunclutha Guest House is cozy and charming.
