Premier Inn Lichfield North East - A38

The Indian restaurant and bar next door served great food, and despite the hotel's position on a main road, we heard no noise. We were very happy with our stay, especially thanks to Claire, who welcomed us on the first evening. We'd switched at short notice from a much more expensive hotel that was noisy and unsuitable, though that had nothing to do with Premier Inn. Here we got a great room, dated but clean, and everything we needed. The facilities were absolutely fine, and the front desk was happy to help with any small thing. All three staff members we met over two nights were polite, friendly and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable, and I had the best two nights' sleep I'd had in a while. The hotel is outdated, as they know, but that didn't take away from the experience.

For a one-night visit with family, this had everything we needed. It could do with an upgrade, and the key felt a bit outdated, but the staff more than made up for that. I've never stayed in such a clean Premier Inn, and it was good value for money.

We picked this Premier Inn for its proximity to the arboretum. It's a little tired, but spotlessly clean. On arrival, the staff noticed my husband's disability and put us in a ground-floor room. Later they brought us proper glasses for our wine. Everyone was so helpful, and that made the stay really enjoyable. The pub next door looked like a family place with a pool table and sports TV, so it wasn't really our kind of place. But our evening was amazing at the Indian restaurant, where the staff were friendly and the place was packed, with people also picking up takeaway orders. It must be well known for its wonderful food and service, and it's definitely worth a visit.
