The location is handy, about a five-minute walk from nearly everything, and the staff were friendly. Still, our stay at the EasyHotel Liverpool had too many problems for us to recommend it. Our room had almost no furnishings: no bench, bedside table, wardrobe, or much else. We’d booked for two, but there was only one towel when we arrived, so we had to ask reception for another. The heating never got the room above roughly 13 to 16 degrees, despite supposedly being set to 23. When we complained, we were given a small portable heater instead of extra blankets. The bed was the worst we’ve had in a hotel. It creaked whenever we moved and was genuinely uncomfortable. We’d requested a room with a window, but it wouldn’t open, so there was no way to air the room. We were there for five days, or four nights, and the room wasn’t cleaned once. I don’t mean a change of towels or sheets, just no basic tidy-up at all.

The room was a decent size for one person, and the bed and bathroom were clean, so thanks to the housekeeping team xxxx. The staff were lovely too, and it was easy to borrow things like a hairdryer or an extra towel. But please don’t stay on a Saturday night if you’re not going clubbing. My neighbours got into a heated argument, and one of them lost their temper. There was screaming, punching walls and stomping across the floors from 4am until I gave up and checked out early. It really put a damper on the stay. The staff were all angels, but people will be people xxxx

The staff were nice and brought extra pillows when I asked, and the location was good. But the room felt like a hostel, and the bed was so springy and uncomfortable. There was also something sticking out underneath it that I kept banging my leg on. The bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a glass door, and a suspicious stain beside the soap was disgusting. The double bed was tiny, more like a twin, and the TV looked very small from the bed. The heating wouldn’t come on, it was freezing, and water was leaking around the window. Only one plug worked, and none of the light switches by the bed worked either. Street noise came straight into the room. You could hear someone walking past and talking at a normal volume, and it was really loud. Honestly, there are hotels at the same price with much better quality.

The shower was fine, but the sink was awkward to use with a shelf above it. The room was clean and tidy, though it had no basics like a glass or cup. There’s no tea or coffee setup in the room, just a machine at reception, and there isn’t much space to hang clothes.
