Hampton by Hilton Liverpool/John Lennon Airport

It’s very well placed, clean, right by the airport multi-storey car park, and the location is perfect. There’s food in the main hotel and in the rooms, and the food is good. Nothing fancy, but very good prices and excellent quality and taste. The gym is basic but free. I couldn’t see any electric car charging, which is a bit of a pain. The rooms are clean, with a great shower, iron and kettle. The pillows are tiny, but there are spare ones in the cupboard. It’s very quiet, though the windows don’t open, so despite the good air con the room can feel stuffy. Join Hilton Honours before booking, as it makes a big difference to the price. Don’t pay £12 a day for parking through the hotel, it’s much cheaper to book directly with Liverpool airport. Prices here can get expensive, so shop around.

The room had been recently refurbished and was lovely, with controlled air conditioning, a spotless bathroom and a comfortable bed. The hotel is just across the road from the Departures entrance, and starts on the fifth floor of the short stay car park. I’ve knocked off a star because the heating had failed in the bar dining area. There was a small desktop heater sitting there alone, but it made no difference. It was very cold.

For an early 6am flight, I like to stay at the airport the night before, and this place is perfect. It’s literally seconds from the terminal. The room was a good size, with a great view of planes landing, and the bathroom was spacious, spotless and had a fabulous shower. Staff were welcoming and friendly, with plenty of help and advice. Absolutely fabulous hotel, highly recommended.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and both the room and public areas were spotless and well maintained. The location opposite the airport terminal is superb, and we had a lovely view of the runway. The breakfast coffee from the machines was awful. One mouthful was more than enough. Also, the restaurant details QR code in the room is out of date. The menu it brought up looked lovely and really whetted our appetite, but that menu wasn’t available, and what they did offer was a poor substitute.
