The Lord Nelson Hotel has become my regular choice whenever I’m in Liverpool, usually a couple of times a month, and every stay has been consistently excellent. The location beside Liverpool Lime Street Station makes arrival and getting around easy. Shops, bars, clubs and great restaurants are all within walking distance. The rooms are clean, tidy and cosy, and the staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful, which makes a difference after a long day travelling. It’s a brilliant place to stay for the comfort, location and welcoming team. I can’t recommend it enough and will keep coming back. Thanks to everyone for making my stays so enjoyable.

For £42.84 a night on a weekend, I really can’t complain about a city-centre hotel. Room 112 was a good size, clean and had everything needed. The bed was comfortable, even though it was a single room, and the clean bedding was good quality. It’s certainly not a five-star hotel, and the corridors could use renovation, but at these prices you can’t go wrong. The staff were friendly.

The location is fabulous, but that was the only good thing about it. The room was dirty, with rubbish and party poppers on the floor, and there was nothing to wash with, so we had to get shower gel ourselves. The shower didn’t work properly either. The hotel also accommodates homeless people in some rooms. We saw a man who seemed stoned in the lift, going up and down. I hate writing bad reviews, but if young women or families are thinking of booking, please don’t. I’d never go back.

It’s two minutes from the train station, and the neighbouring pub was very nice. The bathroom was cold and the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. I didn’t try breakfast.

The bed was very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was clean too. But there was no bar or breakfast facility, and the place felt like a building site. The room carpets were stained, and we were charged too much.
