The location near town was a real plus, and the room was fine for us. We stayed with our two children, and reception staff were lovely and helpful. Bronough deserves a special mention: she was always smiling and went out of her way to make us comfortable, even keeping the kids busy with colouring things.

Breakfast was chaotic, with food not being replenished often, and there seemed to be very few staff around. I asked three times for bedding for the sofa bed I had booked; they said it would come, but it never did. There was little storage, and a laundry room would have been useful. The room itself was small, gloomy because its window didn’t open, and felt a bit worn. It was also quite expensive for what it was. The central location was good, and it might be fine for a night or two for one person or a couple, but with children or a longer stay it would be miserable. It fell short of what the name suggests, and I wouldn’t rush back. It was half term, so I know it was probably busy, but the lack of attention left me feeling that the company was more interested in taking money than looking after guests.

We were there from Thursday through Monday, and the location worked really well. The room was okay, though it could use a refresh. What stood out most was the reception team. Bronaugh was so helpful and consistently cheerful, with customer service that was a 10/10.

Breakfast had a good range of hot and cold choices, and the dining room stayed relaxed and well run even when it was busy. The hotel is also very convenient, right by Lime Street Station and within easy reach of shops, museums and restaurants. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. My room was spacious, quiet and comfortable, with tea and coffee, a tidy bathroom and a bed that gave me a great night's sleep. The place was clean, modern and organised, and I thought the stay was good value. I'd happily come back to Liverpool and recommend it to people visiting for work or leisure.

At around 4am on Saturday, after getting out of a taxi, I accidentally caught my thumb in the door and it was bleeding badly. Lime Street station was closed and nearby shops weren't open, so I had no way to find first aid. I went into the hotel, even though I wasn't a guest. One staff member checked on me and reassured me, while another promptly brought the first aid kit and carefully bandaged my thumb. I didn't get their names, but I hope this reaches them. Their calm, caring and professional help made a difficult start to the morning much easier. I'm very grateful to both of them.
