Jay behind the bar made our visit to Liverpool a brilliant one. The pub was spotless and smelled amazing. We'd happily recommend stopping by, and we'll definitely come back.

The rooms were clean and modern, which was about the only positive. We came on a Friday and I hadn't realised it was karaoke night. I like karaoke, just not when my room is directly over the bar and there's basically no soundproofing. Bass music also made metal fittings in the toilet vibrate badly. There was an aircon unit outside the window, though it wasn't for my room. The windows face a closed-in area, and its noise was loud. It was boiling, so I had to choose between heat and the aircon racket. Sleep was already impossible, then at 4 am management started banging doors and yelling at some girls to get out, saying he'd called the police. Apparently they'd rented a room, possibly with four of them in one bed. The shouting and door banging went on for about 30 minutes, waking everyone who was trying to sleep. No apology to speak of, and forget about a partial or full refund. It's a sleep lottery, and I'm never lucky with scratch cards either. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone, even people who need a night's sleep.

We felt so at home in the bar downstairs. It's friendly and welcoming, a lovely spot to spend some time, and the staff were kind and couldn't do enough for us. Our stay was meant to be shorter, but we added two nights and would have stayed longer if we could. The location is amazing, and the rooms were spotless and really comfortable. We're already looking forward to coming back.

I regret booking this hotel. After all the trouble getting into the room, it turned out to be awful and poor value for the money. The bed felt like a prison bed, the window had no view, the bathroom was old and unclean, and the room felt stifling. It was hot at night, so I opened the window, but the air conditioner made an annoying noise all night. I arrived late to check in and couldn't find anyone to hand over a key. There wasn't a reception desk, so after waiting a long time I went to the bar to find the owner. A girl spoke to me in a very unpleasant way. After a lengthy conversation, someone else came to help and said my Booking reservation wasn't showing in their system, so he would make a new one. I was told I had to pay a £50 deposit in case of damage.
