For a family celebration, we chose this historic hotel once again. It’s near the sea and parks, and well placed for sightseeing around Liverpool, with parking available. We had a lovely atmosphere and consistently great service. The room was clean and comfortable, with crisp white table linen, and was set up well for our party, including audio and slideshow options. The food and service were excellent. Head Chef Matt deserves special credit for the delicious buffet for nearly 50 people. Liz and Rachael ran the service brilliantly and made sure everyone had what they needed. The management team, Geoff, Becky, James and the whole team were professional and helpful throughout. Thank you for making it such a special occasion.

The beds were comfortable, we slept well, and all the staff were polite and friendly, acknowledging guests as they passed. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The receptionist gave us a lovely welcome and helpful suggestions for places to visit. There’s plenty of seating in the bar, with a good choice of drinks and bar food. We’d definitely stay here again.

The room’s been redecorated and feels fresh and welcoming, and the prices seemed fair to moderate. We were there for a funeral wake, and the staff were lovely, happy to help with anything. They also handled catering very well for my wife, who has coeliac disease.

We picked this place because it was close to where we needed to be, and the location worked really well. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was warm and roomy. We could hear people walking around upstairs and one guest snoring, so the soundproofing could be better. Breakfast was adequate, and we had a pleasant three-night stay together.

We only stopped in for lunch, the three of us, and didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was a nice surprise: well cooked and presented beautifully. It was busier than I expected for a Monday. The manager was working hard and gave great service alongside the young staff, who were both very pleasant. A better than usual pub lunch, thanks.
