The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but I like things basic, so I can’t fault the breakfast. The price included real coffee from a pot and boiled eggs. It’s close to lots of museums, and they kept my luggage in a locked cupboard until check-in. The TV had loads of channels, better than at the hotel I’d stayed in before this one. I’ll go back to this area near Knightsbridge next year. I’ve put up a few museum pictures for you.

We took one look at the shocking double room downstairs and went straight back to reception two minutes later asking for our money back. There was no light, no air and no wardrobe, and we’d had to find this dungeon ourselves. Thankfully, The Exhibitionist Hotel next door had a room with light, air, a wardrobe, a bath and a shower. Perfect in the 36c heat outside.

At 100, it wasn’t bad. The single bed was small, and the room itself was narrow and cramped. There’s no lift, so it’s four floors up. The bathroom was along the hall, and you get a key for your room door. All a bit strange.

The place was clean, the staff friendly and the basics were all there. The location is especially handy for visiting the museums, and South Kensington is a lovely neighborhood. Good value for the price.
