The room was clean and had a comfortable single bed, a decent-sized TV, tea and coffee, a hairdryer, and a small wardrobe. The shower room was compact but perfectly usable, with soap and shower gel supplied. The towels were a bit small, though they did the job for me. I was checked in quickly and sent to an annex across the road. The key fob worked easily, and I was in my room within minutes. There’s no lift in that building, but the stairs weren’t too narrow and I managed my large case without trouble. The hotel spans a few buildings and has been recently decorated, so it looks smart beside the surrounding places. It’s right across from St. Pancras station and the tube. There wasn’t breakfast included, but they offered a breakfast box for £6, which seemed very reasonable. A great find for a London budget stay, and I’d come back.

I chose this place for one night so I could be near the station for an early train. It’s right beside the train station, the price is good, and the rooms were clean. They are small, and I had to carry my suitcase up a flight of stairs, but I’d stay here again next time I’m in London.

I never got to stay, but the hotel charged more than £500 to my credit card. I had booked for April 2020, then Covid19 made international travel impossible. British Airways cancelled my flight from Singapore and gave me a full refund, but the hotel refused to let me cancel. A few days before I was due to arrive, they took the full cost of the stay. Management showed no sympathy for the fact that there was no way for me to get to Britain. They would not allow a cancellation after a booking was made, even during a worldwide pandemic. Completely unreasonable.

The only real plus was the location. My first room was completely unclean, so I had to ask for another one. Staff didn’t help with my bags or offer assistance, and I had to climb six flights of stairs to reach the replacement room. There was no elevator. That room still had problems. The window faced straight into a children’s school, so there was no privacy, and no drinking water was provided. The bathroom was so tiny I could barely move around in it. One of the worst stays I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend the place.

The room was neat and clean, and the double bed was really more like a large single. It was adequate for our three nights. For London, the price was great, with cafes and restaurants just a few minutes away. The station entrance is only a minute's walk, handy for the tube and regional trains. The lady on reception was welcoming and helpful, and the young guys were terrific carrying our cases up and down three flights of stairs.
