Americana Hotel

My flight to London was cancelled because of a snowstorm, so I contacted the hotel right away to ask if they could move my booking to a later date. I’d booked through Booking.com just a couple of days before arrival and had paid in full. I wasn’t asking for a refund. They refused to change the booking, saying the terms and conditions did not allow modifications. They offered no alternative, credit, voucher, or compromise. I understand non-refundable rates, but in a genuine travel disruption I expected at least a reasonable attempt to help. If you book here, expect zero flexibility whatever happens. I won’t book again.

The location is excellent for the tube, and breakfast was nice. It was no-frills, decent food that gave me a good start to the day. Service was good as well. The room was small, but it’s London and the price was okay, so I expected that. It was clean, comfortable, and just right for what I needed. I gave high stars for rooms and service based on sensible expectations. I didn’t expect the Ritz. No grumbles, and thanks, Americana!

Housekeeping did an excellent job, keeping the rooms tidy and the linen fresh. The rooms were small but had all the essential amenities. There was complimentary tea, coffee, and light snacks in the lounge around the clock. It’s close to Baker Street and Marylebone metro stations. I had a very pleasant stay!

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and a comfortable stay in a great location. Good value for money, especially for a short visit when you want easy access to nearby attractions.
