Aquarius Hotel

The room was tiny, with dirty walls and furniture that was falling apart. There were cuts and holes in the sheets, and the bathroom was so bad we bought slippers and towels because we didn’t want to touch the floor. There were cockroaches too. Staff apologized and said they’d spray for the bugs, but nothing changed, or the treatment just didn’t work.

I stayed three nights and found cockroaches in a smelly room. For just over £50 a night, I wasn’t expecting much, but I did expect it to be clean. At one point someone took the rubbish bag from my room and didn’t replace it, so I had nowhere to put my rubbish. The staff were helpful when I asked for a blanket and another towel, since water leaked everywhere after I showered, and they brought both to my room.

The location was perfect and the atmosphere was lovely. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel at home with really friendly, accommodating service. Thanks to everyone for looking after us so attentively. We’ll be back.

It was cheap, and that was the one good thing. I was exhausted, but the noise from the tube passing three times an hour continued until 1 am, so I couldn’t sleep. When I finally managed to drift off, a staff member opened my door by mistake. The whole property looked very old, and the shared bathroom wasn’t very clean. The reception had a big hole behind it and a black wall. My first impression was poor, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
