Arch Hotel

Max was very helpful at check-in and sorted out a problem with the TV remote. It’s only 15 minutes by bus to the Emirates stadium, and the bathroom looked newly refurbished, with a lovely hot shower. The carpets, decor and furnishings could use a deep clean or refurbishment. For the price in London, though, the room was tidy and the internet TV speed was good.

After Booking.com let us down at the last minute over an apartment we’d paid for, they weren’t able to help us find another place. We found Arch Hotel nearby instead, and Sunny was very helpful in arranging a last-minute stay. He made sure we wouldn’t have to change rooms during our 27 nights. The room was comfortable and clean, and the kitchenette was useful, with a decent-sized fridge. The staff were marvelous and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The location is excellent, right by Upper Holloway overground station and a short walk from Archway tube station, with plenty of bus stops nearby. The area felt safe, with lots of supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

The location was perfect, and the staff were absolutely phenomenal. There’s 24-hour security and room service too. Best stay I’ve had in London, and I’ll definitely be back!

Getting into the city center was convenient, with the Northern line five minutes away and public transport taking under 15 minutes. But this hotel definitely wasn’t up to a four-star standard. The rooms were old and poorly maintained, the carpet was dirty, and we found a sticky patch on the floor. We got just two small towels per person. The smoke detector beeped all night, and there was no hot water in the morning. Other guests on the same floor had the same problem. We complained and asked for a refund, but since it involved another room where our friends were staying, we were sent from one person to another and wasted time. If you need an extra bed, be aware it isn’t a proper bed and wasn’t suitable to sleep on. We found that very unprofessional.
