Barry House

This small hotel has been dependable and comfortable on my several past visits, and the rooms are reasonably priced. This was my first booking since the rooms and facilities were refurbished and updated. The room had an electric kettle with complimentary coffee, milk, tea, and sugar, along with a large wardrobe and hangers. There was also a hairdryer, portable radiator, and electric fan, plus outlets beside the bed above the tables. It’s near Paddington train and tube station and Lancaster Gate tube station, with lots of buses too. The free Wi-Fi was fast.

The reception staff were welcoming, polite, and helpful. They even let me have an extra 30 minutes before checkout after I overslept, which I really appreciated. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable, and the whole stay went smoothly. I’d definitely consider coming back.

For a cheap, last-minute booking, I was pretty happy. The location was great and our room, though very small, was clean. My only disappointment was the luggage policy on checkout day. They let me leave just one suitcase until 2pm, then said they’d charge for any longer. Since we were on a budget, we had to reorganize our plans and come back early on our last day.

I was on the fourth floor, and there’s no elevator. The rooms are very small, with just one shared bathroom serving eight rooms across two floors. They didn’t leave free water in the room, or even paper tissues.
