Chelsea Guest House

I booked this hotel because I was going to a concert and couldn’t get home the same day. For the price and location it worked well, about 30 minutes’ walk from O2 Brixton Academy. My stay was only one night, so the room having no toilet didn’t really bother me. If I’d stayed longer, though, it would have made me really mad. I was in room 18, in case someone else gets it: the toilet isn’t in the room and you have to go to a separate room to use it.

The room was clean, especially the bathroom, and felt quite cozy. There’s some road noise because it’s on a main road, but I didn’t mind it, I’m a nurse 😄. For the price, it’s not bad. I didn’t like being asked for my credit card details at check-in. It didn’t seem very professional to me. Otherwise, it was okay for the money.

The room was clean, so I gave it two stars rather than one. But for me a hotel needs to give you a good night’s sleep, and this one was horrible. My window faced the street and the insulation was poor, so it felt like sleeping right in the middle of a busy road. The thick pillows were uncomfortable too, and I could hardly sleep.

The rooms were really warm, pretty, and well maintained, and they’re nice and spacious. The location feels a bit dull, though it’s well connected by bus.
