Classic Hyde Park Hotel

It was easy to find a cafe for breakfast nearby, and getting here from Heathrow was quicker than I expected. The hotel is a short walk from Paddington station. My room was small, but I don’t come to London to sleep. The staff were lovely, they buzz you in, which made me feel secure, and they kindly looked after my bags after checkout while I waited for a later flight. There’s no AC, but the fan kept the room cool. There’s no lift, so rooms higher up might be hard to reach for anyone with mobility challenges. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back.

Don’t let the low price pull you in, there are so many better hotels. I say run away from this property. They claim there are bed bugs, the shower leaks, and you may be asked to pay for the leak while showering because the place is so old. There’s disruptive noise that makes it hard to sleep at night, staff show no respect, and there’s no refund whatsoever. Leave a one-star review if you don’t want to get bed bugs.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is near Paddington station and Hyde Park, and our little room was clean, with a comfortable double bed and a nice small shower. We had a room at the back, so it was very quiet at night. The staff were super friendly.

The shower pressure was appalling, and the hotel feels very dated, with very small rooms. It definitely needs a makeover. There are cheaper and nicer hotels in London, and I wouldn’t stay here again.
