The spot next to Hyde Park was a big plus. Museums and major sights were easy to reach on foot, and the neighborhood was lovely and well kept, so going for walks was a pleasure. The hotel itself was clean and organized, with very friendly, helpful staff. The lobby felt welcoming, and we liked being able to sit there with complimentary tea and coffee. Our room was clean too, with warm colors that made it comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, self-service and had plenty of choice. My son and I stayed at Hotel Commodore on Lancaster Gate in early February 2026, and we’d rate the experience 10 out of 10. We highly recommend it for a London visit.

Our suite looked freshly refurbished and was fantastic, while the rest of the hotel felt clean and modern too. Breakfast was a good value, with lots of choice, and everything in the buffet area was tidy. The staff were lovely, and we liked the location near Hyde Park and Paddington Station. There were a few doors banging now and then, but it didn’t spoil our two-night stay. Highly recommended.

We picked this hotel because it was cheap for a quick London trip to see a concert and do some sightseeing. We’re both 19, and for a short stay it was worth it. The location was great, with the tube a few minutes away and a bus stop even closer that takes you into the main shopping streets. It was clean, and the staff were so nice. They really tried to find us a spare blanket so we wouldn’t have to share. The AC was much appreciated during the summer heatwave. Breakfast was just okay. The room was very small, and getting to the top floors meant using extremely cramped stairs because the elevator didn’t go all the way up. The hallways and staircases are narrow. We could hear other guests walking past, and could hear what people were doing in their rooms as we went by. Our bathroom fan didn’t work either, so after a shower the room got hot and humid.

We stayed in a twin bedroom from 4 - 7 January 2026. For Central London, about £150 per night with breakfast for two during the quieter period after New Year was a great price for the space, accommodation and service. I don’t know what the high-season rates are. My mother is very particular about hotels and said she’d stay here again, and I’d look for a room here on my next London trip too. I’d give the stay 4.6/5. The neighborhood is posh and central, right by Hyde Park and a beautifully converted Victorian Gothic church. Buses and the metro are easy to get to. The lobby is beautifully done, mixing traditional English decor with modern touches. I’d rather there wasn’t a TV there, though at least it showed peaceful nature programs. The breakfast room was bright, nicely laid out and had comfortable chairs. Breakfast was excellent, 5/5, with a big buffet covering all the traditional Full-English items. I especially liked being able to order eggs cooked fresh at no extra charge. I had hot scrambled eggs each morning. Service was very good, 4/5, though we should have been told the breakfast and gym hours at check-in. I went to use the gym at 20h on my first evening and found it closed at 19h. They let me in as an exception since I hadn’t been told, then explained that it’s open from 7h to 19h. I appreciated that, as keeping up my weightlifting routine was a main reason I chose the hotel. The room and bathroom were clean, fresh and hygienic, though there were visible scuff marks on several walls and baseboards in the room and hallways. It wasn’t a hygiene issue, but made some areas look a little shabby. Cleanliness: 4/5.

The location was ideal, surrounded by the Circle line, Central line and Paddington station, so I had plenty of options. The room was clean and the price was good. The main downside was noise through the weak sound insulation. I could hear people in other rooms, and at night even my neighbor snoring, which was a bit annoying. I mentioned it to staff, who said those neighbors were checking out that day and asked me to come back if there was another problem. The snoring stopped, but the soundproofing still isn’t great. Overall, it was a good stay.
