Courthouse London

We had afternoon tea at Soho Wala in the Courthouse Hotel, a Christmas gift. Ramadan looked after us and was really friendly and attentive. The fruit and plain scones and tasty sandwiches were joined by delicious, beautifully made cakes, plus a choice of tea and a glass of prosecco. We’d definitely recommend it.

If you’re going to the London Palladium, the location is ideal. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel and room were comfortable. I’ve taken off a star because there was mold on the bathroom ceiling.

The location in Soho was a real highlight, with restaurants, shopping, and entertainment just steps away. Even so, the hotel itself felt peaceful and relaxing. My room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with everything I needed to unwind after exploring the city. I also liked the mix of modern comfort and historic character. I stayed at the Courthouse Hotel London from Sunday, September 21st through Thursday, September 25th. From arrival on, the staff were friendly, professional, and very accommodating, taking care to make my stay go well. Thanks to the whole team. I had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back to London.

The location is great, but the price no longer feels worthwhile given the lack of care, service, and professionalism. We’ve stayed here many times, but over the past two years the hotel seems to have gone downhill, with things breaking down. We’ll find somewhere else next time, which shouldn’t be hard in London. On our first night, we were put in a room where lobby party noise carried on until almost 11pm. We’d just arrived and were jet lagged, so that was disappointing. The concierge or front desk said they’d move us to a particular room the next day. When I spoke to the manager, he immediately said that room wasn’t available and seemed more inconvenienced than concerned. He blamed the noise on the theatre next door. Whatever the source, it was unacceptable. We were eventually given that very room on the second day, after all. The manager dismissed our concerns rather than listening, and I never felt he cared or tried to help. The elevators were another serious problem. Both had broken buttons, and neither seemed to have been serviced in a while. One wouldn’t take guests from the main floor, while the other struggled to reach ground level. Once, we were heading down when the lift stopped on the fourth floor and lost its destination. We were trapped for about five minutes. The call button didn’t work, and after a panic we finally got out and took the stairs. The rooms also aren’t being looked after like they used to be. Drapes were coming off the wall, and there were long black hairs in the bathroom and on the bed, presumably left by housekeeping. My partner is bald and I have a crew cut, so they weren’t ours. The bath’s safety handle had been removed or broken off, leaving rusty bolts and fittings exposed.
