The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the hotel was lovely and quiet. Our room was near reception. The bathroom was beautiful, perhaps too big, as I would have preferred more room space and a smaller bathroom. There was no table or chair, which we found awkward, though the shape of the house may make that hard to change. We were in room 602, and cigarette smoke came in once when the air conditioning was on. We thought it might be from the courtyard below. It happened often and badly in room 601 on our previous stay, and we asked to move because I have a chronic cough. Since the hotel is non-smoking, I think they should address this.

The rooms are nice, clean, and well located, and the staff are friendly. Still, be aware of the £200 deposit at check-in: it goes into a holding account and is meant to be released a week after checkout. I had to chase the hotel about it and about mistaken charges to my bank, and eventually started a chargeback. For two nights costing £300, they charged £33 for breakfast and also deducted another £33 for the same breakfast from my deposit, leaving £66 wrongly charged and the £200 still held. They told me to contact my bank, and despite contacting the hotel repeatedly, they couldn't understand the issue. My bank understood and started the chargeback. I wouldn't risk staying again because of the hassle. If you are willing to, the hotel itself is worth recommending, but breakfast is £16.50 for a few biscuits and a box of cornflakes.

Feebe provided extraordinary service and really enhanced our stay. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, the staff are outstanding, and there's a great location across from a park guests can access. Thanks to everyone at the Eccleston for a wonderful stay.

The room felt unreal, really posh and clean, and I'd definitely stay again. It was a last-minute booking, and the price seemed reasonable. Next time I'd like breakfast included, unless it's stated that it isn't.

There’s a stunning private garden to wander through across the road. The room was compact but perfectly acceptable, and the staff throughout the hotel were lovely. All in all, a very pleasing stay.
