Edward Hotel worked well as a base for getting around London, especially with Paddington so close. I stayed overnight recently. The room was simple but clean and perfectly fine, and the staff were helpful and informative when I arrived.

The receptionist was lovely and the location is fab, but I wouldn't stay here again. After my room was cleaned, a few of my things were missing. The room itself felt dirty and smelled strongly of damp, with black mould around the windows and in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable enough, but I didn't want to look too closely at the sheets.

We had a really good stay and just checked out. Paddington station is right around the corner, with a quick train connection to Heathrow that took about 40 minutes. There are loads of restaurants nearby, with lots of different cuisines. The rooms are small, but they were clean, and the receptionists were very kind. It's a basic hotel, which we already knew, and that was fine. Great value, and the location is priceless.

The room was damp and smelly, the carpet was worn and stank, and the bathroom smelled too. The shower was cold, with no proper hot water. I was there for less than half an hour, though I'd only booked the room about an hour earlier, and my asthma got worse and made me feel sick. I complained at reception, but they couldn't change my room or refund me because the manager wasn't there. The whole thing caused stress and alarm for my family and me. This hotel needs to close or be refurbished. Avoid it. It's also advertised as child friendly, and that claim needs to be removed.
