Flemings Mayfair is one of the few remaining independent privately owned hotels in London that has been in the same family for over 40 years. It is also one of the capital’s oldest established, having opened its doors in 1851. We spent 10 days here in November with our daughter and 20-month-old grandson, and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. They even put them in a lovely, larger room, which was great since some rooms can feel a bit small. The hotel has a quiet elegance and a charming feel, and the location is hard to beat. We walked everywhere. The rooms were clean and well appointed, though I do wish they and the bathrooms were a little more updated. The wonderful staff and location made that easy to overlook.

We came for a special birthday, and the hotel looked stylish, with first-class decor and attentive staff. The room was nice too, though definitely small. What let the stay down was the lack of late-night service. The bar shut at 11pm on Saturday, so there was nowhere to go for a nightcap after dinner unless you headed back out. In a global city, that’s frankly pathetic, especially for guests staying at the hotel. A luxury hotel should be open around the clock, not closing up like it’s the 1960s. Hugely disappointing.

The bar is definitely worth trying, and I loved the little balcony and the gin cabinet in the room. My room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and the hotel’s design felt modern and elegant. Ayyaz Junjua took great care of every request, and I’m especially grateful for the outstanding service. The location was excellent too. I had a wonderful stay at Flemings Mayfair and look forward to coming back.

The quiet room made for a peaceful stay, and we had another fabulous visit to Flemmings. It has a homely feel and is very comfortable. The location is fantastic, the breakfast was superb, and the eggs royale might be among the best I’ve had. The gym is small but well equipped for a morning workout. Staff are always happy to help, and Ayyaz was especially helpful at checkout. We’ll be back.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with great quality food to set us up for a day in London. From the first moment to the very end of our stay at Flemings Hotel Mayfair, the warm, friendly staff treated us kindly and went out of their way to meet our wishes. This was truly one of our best hotel experiences in London, and I can’t recommend it enough.
