Holiday Inn Express London Limehouse

The location was fairly central, within walking distance of the Underground and bus stops. The bed was comfortable, and for the price I wouldn't recommend any other hotels. Breakfast was filling, and the to-go option is handy if you can't eat in. A great stay for couples or business travelers.

For a cheap place to stay in London, this is perfect at what it sets out to do, and I mean that in the best way. The rooms are clean and good, and the bathroom is great. It's not especially stylish and doesn't have every little detail covered, but that's not why you'd stay here. Breakfast was included and fine, with a limited range rather than anything amazing. The cleaners did a great job, and the staff were lovely. They even shared some good stories about their day. Location was perfect for me too. The view and monuments aren't the draw, but everything that needs to be right is. This is easily my new go-to when I need a comfortable place to sleep in London.

Good value for the price, with a complimentary breakfast spread that had a nice selection. The room was clean and more spacious than I expected, and the bed was comfy. Heating worked well for both the room and water. A lovely short stay.

After a tiring journey, flying 6 hours from the US to Canada and then another 7 hours to the UK, I expected to feel welcome at the Holiday Inn bar where I was staying. I checked in, napped, went for a short walk, then stopped for a beer. I asked the bartender, Kamile, politely whether it could go on my room or if I needed to pay there and then. She said I had to pay first, so I went to get my wallet. Coming back, I saw other guests at the bar being served and only handed the POS machine afterwards. It left me feeling singled out, as if the rules depended on who you were. After such a long trip, being treated unfairly where you're staying is the last thing you want. It made a very poor first impression and left a sour taste from the start of my stay. I wasn't the one who originally booked this hotel, and otherwise likely wouldn't have chosen it myself. This was a very disappointing customer experience, far from the hospitality I expected. I won't be returning.
