Holiday Inn London - West

They gave me a free upgrade to an executive suite, and the facilities were amazing, clean and good quality. Breakfast was amazing too, and they made vegan sausages for me when I asked. Prerna looked after my mum when the only seats available were bar stools, and Vanyas service was outstanding. I'd definitely come back!

The location is well connected. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Elizabeth line for direct access to Heathrow Airport, and around seven minutes to the Central line, which gets you to central London and the main sights in about 20-30 minutes. Our room on the 5th floor was very clean and reasonably sized for three adults. It was ready early, and being allowed to check in around 1 PM rather than the usual 3 PM was appreciated. Breakfast was quite good, with standard English breakfast items, fruit salad, yoghurt, pastries, granola/muesli and almond, soya and oat milk, plus fresh bananas, apples and mandarins. There were a few issues. Although we requested three duvets, three sets of towels and three tea cups for three adults, the room had only two duvets, two hand towels, one large towel and three tea cups. The key cards stopped working after breakfast the next day, so a housekeeping staff member had to let us in, then we asked reception to reactivate them before going into the city. We were told at check-in the bar was open until midnight, but when we asked for a beer around 11 PM on our second evening, staff said it was already closed. Housekeeping didn't refill the body/shower gel after it ran out on the first day. The soundproofing was poor too, and we could clearly hear voices in other rooms and the corridor early in the morning and late in the evening. It was a mixed stay, with a clean room and decent breakfast but several service and maintenance problems.

The executive suite my mom stayed in was much nicer and looked like it had been redone fairly recently. It seemed to be a much better quality room. For us, the place was adequate for the few days we needed it, but too pricey for what we got. Our room was a decent size and we made it work for three people and five bags, though storage was limited. It needed repairs and a serious refresh. The mini fridge wasn't cold, so food we left in it overnight had to be thrown away the next morning. The bathroom was a good size with shelves, but the shower had no door, so we put a towel on the floor to stop water spreading. The stained floor grout definitely needed a refresh or deep clean. Staff were accommodating, if not especially friendly, though they weren't rude. They arranged the early check-in I requested. Our first room was by the elevators, but they moved us when I asked. I wouldn't highly recommend this place, though it was okay for a short stay.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of choice and great service. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and we enjoyed the hotel amenities too. Mahsa at reception made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. She was friendly, professional, and very accommodating. The rest of the team were attentive and helpful throughout, which made the stay relaxing. Thanks to everyone, especially Mahsa.
