Hostel One Notting Hill

The location worked well for me: it’s not so central that it feels chaotic, but there are a couple of tube stations and buses nearby, along with parks, a vintage market, coffee shops and restaurants. There’s also a supermarket close by that stays open late, which is a real plus. The staff are what made the hostel great. They were all lovely, helpful and fun. Fran, Olivia and Maisie were especially welcoming, and I also got to meet Dylan, Michael, Wes, Meg, Lee and Daniel, who were amazing too. There are activities every day, including free tours with staff, drinking games to meet people, and fun bars and clubs to go to each night. After a couple of days, you end up knowing the whole hostel. Good times, thank you all!

Michael from OneFam Notting Hill made a real difference to my stay. He helped me with an early check-in, which made everything much smoother, and was friendly, helpful and clearly invested in making sure people have a good experience. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel welcome and comfortable. He genuinely seems to enjoy his work and goes the extra mile. Big thanks for the service and positive energy!

Onefam organises day trips and nights out, a fun way to see some London sights. The family dinners each night were delicious and a great way to meet people. Shoutout to Zoe for her recipes. The staff make the hostel feel like a family, which is especially nice when you’re travelling solo and feeling homesick. They’re welcoming, friendly and approachable, and make sure everyone feels included and involved. The location is so beautiful, and I had a great time. Olivia, Michael, Wes, Max, Daniel, Fran and all the other lovely workers were amazing. It’ll be hard to top this stay.

If social travel is your priority, this place will keep you busy and you’ll probably be socialed out by the end. I never had a moment without someone to hang out with, and I’ll definitely be back. It was a classic Onefam stay, pretty on par with their other hostels. The facilities and accommodation are really basic and could use some TLC. The six-bed dorms are snug, the window only opens for a specific bunk, and the plug by my bed didn’t work. The hot water in the showers was intermittent, there’s no elevator, and getting to the fourth floor was a trek. Common areas have basic but comfortable furniture. The kitchen is small, maybe five people at most, shoulder to shoulder, but it’s well stocked. If you care more about nice facilities and rooms, you may have better luck elsewhere.
