We had a lovely weekend with our children at the hotel, which we used as a base for trips into London. It was our daughter's birthday, and we probably should have spent more time there because the park around it is stunning. The kids loved climbing the trees. Our room was very comfortable, and dinner at the Orangery was delicious. The children's menu pizzas are huge, which made for one very happy boy. At breakfast we were surprised by the restaurant's lovely views over Cannizaro Park. The staff were caring and made sure we and the kids had what we needed. They'd even left a birthday treat in our room for our daughter to find when we got back from London. She was over the moon. Highly recommended, such a lovely hotel.

We visited for a 90th birthday party. The food was good, and the waiting staff were excellent. The hotel works well for events and sits opposite Wimbledon Common. On a fine day, the common would be lovely for a walk, but it was raining, so I can't really comment on the hotel grounds.

The service from some staff was dreadful. It took ages to get anyone to make up the rooms, the food was lousy, and we were treated as if we owed them a million pounds. There were no smiles and the attitude was awful. Some staff were really nice, while others were badly mannered. Getting there is inconvenient without a car. It's in the middle of nowhere, so good luck making the journey.

The afternoon tea was fabulous, with a superb view of the Park and a warm, unexpected welcome from bson. The chefs' dishes were high quality, and Max was lovely to talk to. The atmosphere and service made it a real pleasure. This was the best afternoon tea I've had in the area for many years. I'll certainly return and recommend others come in and enjoy it. Thanks to the whole team.

Krystina tried hard to sort things out, and the food and staff were good. We had our wedding reception here and, despite the problems, it turned into a great day. We were supposed to have access to decorate our hired room at 5pm the day before, but less than 24 hours beforehand I was told another event had it until 11pm. So my wife and I ended up decorating at 11:30pm the night before the wedding. It was a huge disruption, though we got everything done. The hotel needs to communicate better with customers and respect their time and money.
