Hotel Indigo London Paddington Hyde Park

We'd definitely return for the people as much as the location. We had a wonderful family stay at this Paddington hotel, and the staff made it feel almost like home. Gagan was so kind and attentive with our son. Shah was always friendly, polite, and ready to help with a smile. Jalil's care was outstanding. He even walked us to the train station and made sure we were comfortable right up to the last moment. That level of hospitality is rare and memorable, truly first-class.

The front desk staff were always super friendly, and they decorated my room for my birthday, which was lovely. I also found the room a great size compared with other London rooms, and had an amazing stay. One tip for housekeeping: please keep the noise down while cleaning other rooms. There were often loud conversations and doors slamming. The lift is a bit slow too, so allow for that.

The staff were fantastic throughout my five nights, warm, respectful, and accommodating without exception. The location is spectacular, though being in such a busy area does mean street noise. For the price, just a little less than the stately Paddington Hyatt around the corner, I expected more from the room. It looked worn and not especially clean or updated: there was substantial mold on the ceiling over the shower, stains around the shower base, damaged wood flooring, and water glass marks all over the small coffee table. The free Wi-Fi was also very weak and kept dropping. It wasn't reliable enough even for email, let alone streaming or downloads. I rely on a steady connection for work, so I had to use my phone hotspot and pay its expensive daily roaming fee. When I raised the problem, the front desk said no one else had complained. Maybe most guests don't use Wi-Fi, but I find it hard to believe my room was the only one with the issue.

I've stayed here several times over the last few years, and it never disappoints. Fozia gave me a wonderful welcome at the front desk, a bright, smiling five-star ambassador for Hotel Indigo. It's an easy walk to everything in London and then some. The hotel and staff are the best, and I always look forward to coming back.
