Ibis London City - Shoreditch

After a long trip I was exhausted, so I asked Rita and her front desk colleague Marina whether an early check-in might be possible. They were very kind and managed to find me a room sooner than expected. That made a real difference to my day, and they gave me such a warm, professional welcome. Rita also reminded me about joining the All Accor membership program, which I appreciated. Thank you both for looking after me.

We could leave our bags after checkout and collect them before leaving London. The staff were helpful and very friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and breakfast had a good range of options. The location was handy too, just a one-minute walk from Aldgate East Tube station.

The rooms are small, but spotless and just right for a short city break or a long layover. The location is the best of any IBIS I’ve stayed at: Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane and Liverpool Street station are only a few minutes away on foot. There’s a Pret around the corner and a Tesco next door for snacks or anything you need for the room. The staff were really friendly and the service was impeccable. Great value for money. I’d come back.

The location is convenient for sightseeing, with a metro station nearby, but I won’t stay here again. My room wasn’t very clean, and the internet was slow. There was no bottled water or slippers in the room. We asked for slippers several times and were told they were out of stock, but none were brought. When we asked for water once, the bar was closed, so we couldn’t even buy any ourselves. Housekeeping only made the bed and left one or two clean towels each day. They didn’t take away the dirty towels or refill the empty hand soap, and I doubt they cleaned other surfaces. I’d rather pay a little more for a better hotel, and wouldn’t recommend staying here for more than one night.
