Jesmond Hotel

The staff were phenomenal, and Vincent is the best! They listened to all our requests and were so accommodating. They stored our bags while we went sightseeing nearby and kept some while we were away. Breakfast was solid, with staff bustling around to make requested items. You could tell they put care into it. We picked the hotel from Trip Advisor because we wanted to be near the Kings Cross/ St Pancras Eurorail station. It's only a few blocks away, in a safe area with a university and hospital nearby. The street was fairly quiet, so we slept well. Our room had four twin beds, which worked for our family, and felt cozy after renovations the hotel had made in the past two years.

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was hearty. The room had what we needed, with comfy beds, a kettle, and good WiFi. It would have been good to have shampoo. The shower water also sometimes took a few minutes to heat up. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

The highlight was the absolutely excellent breakfast in a cozy room downstairs the next morning. My room was clean and comfortable, though small, basic, and spartan. This clearly isn't a luxury hotel, but I stayed one night after a company Christmas party and would happily stay again if I were in the area.

The breakfast and the people are what made this stay feel worth it. There was plenty of Full English, plus fruit and cheese, and Maggie and the other staff would greet us and stop for a chat. It felt more like staying with a friend than in a business hotel. The room was basic for the price, but fine, and I’d gladly come back. We could walk around central London easily, and buses and the tube from Tottenham Court Road, Euston Square, Tottenham or Goodge Street made places like the Tower of London and Bankside easy to reach. I did miss having shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. Also, the lack of a lift could be a problem for some people.
