I’ve stayed at Leman House three times now, most recently on 18th July, and it’s been just right for my London trips. It’s a small, comfortable, clean budget hotel, with popular tourist spots and public transport within easy reach. It’s self check-in, but there’s a contact number in the room information for the managers, who’ve been very helpful. If you’re on a tight budget and just want good basic accommodation, Leman House is a great choice.

Mariana was lovely, and the breakfast was really, really good. This is a B&B in a house, so when we arrived around 9pm we were mindful of keeping the noise down in case we woke the other guests, something I wouldn’t usually think about at a regular hotel. It was a great deal for the price, and I like the local feel now and then instead of a corporate hotel. I’d come back.

The kitchen was a surprisingly useful extra, and the location was great. For what it costs, I’d give it five out of five. The room was okay, though the door locks felt a little flimsy. It was somewhat noisy, but I slept fine.

There was black mold in the shower, brown deposits in the toilet, and what looked like washed-out blood stains on the towels. The carpet was dirty and smelled bad. You could hear people in other rooms breathing, and the place was very noisy. Opening the windows wasn’t an option because of the strong cooking oil fumes from the restaurant below. The hygiene was absolutely awful. Worst “hotel” I’ve ever stayed in. Don’t go there under any circumstances.

The room was tiny and poorly finished. The plugs sparked, there was no heating, and everything smelled of smoke. It was so loud that we could hear everything outside and in the neighboring rooms. Ours was beside the kitchen, and someone, either another guest or a staff member, was clattering and banging around in there from 1am to 3am. At check-in, the man at reception looked confused when we said we had a booking. He called several people, then waved around a clipboard list and asked us to point out our names. Don’t stay here if you want a good night’s sleep. It was the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
