The worst part was how we were treated when I was using a wheelchair. Staff seemed completely indifferent, and we were put on the top floor despite there being no lift. My friend had to carry our bags and help me up the stairs every day on her own. I would have been more forgiving if anyone had offered help, been polite, or kept the place clean, but none of that happened. The room and bathroom were filthy, with dirty walls, floors, and ceiling. The curtains were stained, and the bed was awful, with barely enough sheet to cover us. Without pajamas we would have been freezing. The showers had hardly any pressure, and the one on the second floor only gave boiling water, which left us with heat rash. There were no bathroom hooks or handy places to put clean clothes or toiletries. If you only need somewhere to sleep for an extra night after a change of plans, at least there’s a roof over your head. Otherwise, find another hotel. There’s too much here that needs fixing for me to find anything positive to say.

I’d only book again if I had no other options. The shared bathroom was fine, with a clean toilet and a shower that had hot running water. My basement room was a decent size, with a double bed and sink. The sheets and towels were clean, but the room itself looked very shabby. The curtains had paint on them, the walls were different colours, and the carpet had seen better days. If all you need is a clean bed for the night, it’ll do. That’s about what you’d expect from a two-star place.

The location is a real plus, with easy access to transport and even a walkable route to central London. I stayed for two nights because other options were so expensive. The room was dirty and old, much as the reviews had led me to expect. The shared shower was the biggest frustration: the water was almost impossibly hot. The walls also let through a lot of noise. It’s somewhere to sleep, for two people at most. I wouldn’t stay there beyond that.

The location was excellent, and the room and washrooms were clean. The staff were very friendly too, so I’d definitely consider coming back. The reviews had put me off a little, but for a budget hotel with some privacy and clean sheets, it was good value for money. It’s not a five-star place, of course. I needed an iron and was able to get one. I’d suggest they get a better ironing board for future guests.
