For the price, this is very reasonable, and the location near St Pancras is hard to beat. Everything was clean and the beds comfortable, though the interior feels a bit 80s. The rooms with shared toilets and showers won’t suit everyone. I’d recommend it if you need a place to rest nearby, but maybe not for a longer London stay.

Be ready to carry your luggage up or down steep steps. Other than that, the hotel worked well for us: King's Cross station is only a few minutes on foot, the rooms are clean and well maintained, and the staff are very helpful. Places to eat and shop are also within walking distance.

The owner was friendly and even carried our luggage upstairs, which was helpful since there’s no lift. The bathroom door is the one thing I’d change, as it doesn’t lock.

They call this place “family-friendly,” but there’s no cot for couples travelling with babies or young children. The MacDonald employee I spoke to by phone sounded tired of life and wasn’t apologetic at all. It felt like a complete lack of basic hospitality, not just poor service. Families could look at the affordable, friendlier Central Hotel down the road, which does offer cots, as most hotels would.
